Day 5: Now is the Time

Every now and again, I find myself paddling madly upstream against the prevailing current of well-being, most especially when I’m judging myself for being human, imperfect, flawed.

Today, I choose I to celebrate my imperfection as the adventure of living, knowing that, as Thomas Drier so wisely reminds us, “Today should always be our most wonderful day.”

I so enjoy being here now, in this physical body – to love, to laugh, to delight in the beauty of this natural world and to flow juicy orgasmic energy to what aligns with my soul…that which nurtures and sustains and uplifts me.  I appreciate the opportunity to express my authentic gifts, to show up here on the page naked and unadulterated and seemingly vulnerable.  I’m seeing the value of being here fully in the moment, forgiving myself for being less than perfect, socially awkward, not up to my own standards.

I acknowledge that my harsh self-judgment is neither productive nor inspiring.  So I choose to remember that enjoying life is about being able to re-member to live in the now, recalling the true essence of BEing in this moment.

And so can you.

Life When Stretched Is Celebration

The theme of this blog is Celebrating Abundant Living: Body, Mind, and Spirit, so the above quote really resonated with me.

I have stretching myself by focusing my energies on expansion and stepping out of my comfort zone in many ways, and I am feeling refreshed and re-energized.  I find myself awakening rested and inspired, with an eager sense of adventure for the new day.  I feel absolutely on target to manifest miracles…as Abraham-Hicks says “ You know when you’re on the brink of it when it feels like the next logical step.”

Got Intentions? – The How and Why For Setting Intentions

I hope this finds you enjoying the changing weather and tuning in to the whispers of your inspiration.

Wonderful news on many fronts: I enjoyed a Sunday dinner with my daughter for the first time in weeks yesterday, and I am confidently stepping outside my comfort zone in a number of ways as my business continues to expand.

Got Intentions? The How & Why of Setting Intentions

Life follows our thoughts, so when we don’t get specific and deliberate with those thoughts, who knows where we’ll end up! We’re much more powerful creators when we train our attention toward what we want, by setting the intention for it in advance.

What’s An Intention? An intention is simply “the act or instance of determining mentally upon some action or result.” Dream Coach Marci Weider writes this about intentions:

“A working definition for intention is: ‘to have in mind a purpose or plan, to direct the mind, to aim.’ Lacking intention, we sometimes stray without meaning or direction. But with it, all the forces of the universe can align to make even the most impossible, possible.”

I tell folks an intention is simply holding in mind what you want. That’s what allows you to point your conscious awareness (your vehicle for all creation) in the direction of what you would like to have or be or do.

In short, setting intentions is a good habit to get into! Here are short and sweet steps for setting an intention. (Whether you do it on the fly or create a more formal ritual for it, the important part is that you do what feels best!)

On-the-Fly Intention Setting (for when you’re right in the moment and don’t have a lot of advance prep time)

1. Focus your thought on the result or experience you want
2. Let it go

Could it get any easier? The only thing better than how simple it is, is how effective you’ll find it! On-the-fly intention setting is perfect for taking or making important calls, meeting new people, hosting or attending an event, receiving some sort of service (restaurant dinner, car in the shop, tax preparation), traveling, etc.

For times when you’re extra nervous or doubtful, or for things that feel like a big deal, you might engage a more ritualized process for setting an intention:

Formal Intention Setting

1. Write your intention down
2. Let it go

Alternatively, you could say it out loud instead of putting it in writing. There’s something about the power of the written and spoken word that are especially fun to invoke when it really counts. Developing a habit or ritual around the process will increase its power for you.

You can develop a ritual by keeping a particular journal where you write intentions, or having a place (a box or drawer or even a book) where you keep the papers you’ve written your intentions on.

Some choose to keep their written intentions in a place where they see them regularly (bulletin board, bathroom mirror, wallet, etc.).

If you’re speaking your intention instead of writing it, it’s recommended to get in a peaceful state before declaring it. If you choose to share it with another person, be picky about who you let in on it to ensure you get support instead of ridicule or doubt.

As far as how to word your intention, there’s no wrong way to do it, but I recommend you play with various structures in order to find your rhythm – then stick with what feels best. Some start an intention by addressing their higher power, some start it with “I am,” some simply say what’s going to happen. (That’s how I do it: “We have a great time, we’re totally attracted to each other, he quickly makes it clear he wants to see me again.”) Experiment, be creative, and pay attention for what “clicks” for you.

When to Use It?

When is a good time to practice setting a deliberate intention? As mentioned above, there’s no bad time to use it. Anytime you care about what happens or simply want to ensure you get what you want is a great time to get intentional.

In fact, I suspect most of us hold intentions more often than we realize. The problem is those intentions aren’t usually conscious or deliberate or pointing us in the direction of our desire.

For example, my sister-in-law recently went on a job interview that she “knew” wouldn’t pay what she wanted. As she drove to her interview, she imagined that they would probably like her, would probably want to hire her, and could in no way possible afford her.

Guess what happened? No surprise she got exactly what she held in mind.

By purposely setting an intention, we get a chance to redirect our thoughts in ways that allow our desired end result to come to fruition. We get out of our own way and stop sabotaging our happy endings!

But don’t take my word for it. Put it to practice for yourself and let me know how you like it!

Your Sub-Conscious Mind – Magnify the Right Vibes

There is a whole set of thought vibrations available for you to choose from.

In any life area that has mixed signals going on, you will find a plethora of vibrations all mixed in together. Some vibrations say – “I have it going really good. This is working out so well!”

While others say – “Oh boy, what’s happening? The whole thing is not working at all. Why am I even wasting my time on this?”

To choose the strain of thoughts that ultimately support what you want to create, is your job as the creator of your life journey.

Your mind is like a child, or rather your subconscious mind is like a child and it beams all of these messages into the Universe attracting situations. You can use your conscious mind to overrule or overwrite this subconscious mind because it is important to train this subconscious mind to get the results that you want.

Coaching is about working on this program, and as you (we) cajole your subconscious into letting go of old thoughts and feed in new useful, loving and supportive thoughts, your vibrations change for the better and so does your reality. The whole energy changes around you.

It’s all a new understanding, perspective and programming that goes into your subconscious so that change happens.

Your conscious mind can help in changing focus and awareness and help guide your subconscious to contain better beliefs and thoughts. The only problem is if your conscious mind gets too rigid and does not want to let your subconscious think differently. This happens to overly intellectual people and people who have experienced so many contrary situations (contrary to what they would have liked to experience) that allowing the subconscious mind to think differently seems to be a Herculean task.

In such cases, information needs to be fed in very logically and carefully because the mind needs to be totally convinced to release all doubts and fears. It is a case of trust, and as a person learns to trust, he/she lets go of old and rigid thought patterns that were just not sitting right. The old subconscious just created the same situation again and again, and the consequences get very clear to see and experience.

For example if there is a man or woman in your life who seems as if he/she is not treating you correctly, it’s because this person is the projection of your subconscious mind and its beliefs. You may want one thing, but this subconscious mind projects another. As this subconscious mind is trained differently, change happens around you. You can also keep this in mind while dealing with other people because they too have the same issues. Their subconscious mind is also trained to think incorrectly thereby creating their experiences with you.

If you want change, and would like to experience the results of having different beliefs in your subconscious mind, then allow this subconscious mind to hold different beliefs and your life will certainly reflect that change. Work on your vibrations and from the mix of thought vibrations, choose and transmit correct and useful ones to the Universe and have it bring back good and happy situations to you.

Magnify the vibes that will support you and let go of those that don’t. Let your subconscious project a different reality for you and take correct and happy actions.

Using the Power of Your Mind To Create Positive Change

I hope this post finds you thriving and getting outside in nature to enjoy some beautiful weather.

An Affirmation Works When It Feels Good
To Think It

There are many who teach the importance of thinking positive thoughts.   Millions of people are using positive affirmations to feel good and create the life of their dreams.  For many it works easily and for others there is a missing link between their reading or saying of affirmations and actually manifesting what they are saying.  Why is that?

Have you ever read an affirmation and noticed that it kind of irritated you?  Instead of feeling positive when you read your positive affirmation you actually felt a little annoyed that it wasn’t working after saying it for so long, or you noticed the contrast between how you actually felt when you read it and what the affirmation said and you felt discouraged.   You thought, “This doesn’t work.”  Well, that feeling is actually an indication that that particular phrase or affirmation, or something about how you are thinking about it, is NOT working for you.

Instead of bringing you closer to what you want it is actually introducing resistance into your energy field and for the moment it is blocking off the good that you want to allow.

So, what is the secret to successfully using affirmations or reminders to create the life you want to create?  The affirmation must make you Feel Good, or at least better, when you read it.

Why is Feeling Good (or better) so important?

When you Feel Good it is an indication that you are allowing who you are to flow through you.  We are all source energy and source energy has a high vibration.  You can recognize this vibration when you feel love and appreciation.  When you feel love and appreciation it is an indication that you are letting who you are flow through you with no resistance.  The better you feel, the less resistance you have.  It is that energy resistance that is blocking off what we want in our lives.

When you read an affirmation and it brings you relief or it makes you Feel Good it means that that particular phrase or statement, or how you are thinking about it has decreased your resistance and is therefore allowing more of who you are and what you want to flow through you and into your life.  Alternatively we can say that the good feeling is an indication of a higher vibration.  According to the law of attraction, that higher vibration (or feeling) will attract matching vibrations (or feelings) into your experience.  When you feel love and appreciation you attract love and loving people into your experience.

When you feel abundant you attract abundance.  So, when you feel good, not only do you have the benefit of feeling good, you are allowing everything you want into your life – all those good feeling, high vibration emotions, people, and experiences are coming your way!

Why are blisscals called Thoughts that Feel Good?

The phrases on our blisscals have been chosen to remind you of what the deepest part of you already knows…that you live in an abundant universe, that you are source energy, that you are love, and that all is well.  When you think these thoughts, that are in alignment with who you are, you Feel Good!

Of course, you must choose the phrases that make YOU feel good when you think them, and this can change over time (which is why it is so great that blisscals are static cling and can be changed or moved around).  Remember, an affirmation only works when it feels good to think it!  When you see your blisscal hanging over your kitchen sink or in your rearview mirror, it will be a reminder to you from your higher self of who you are and how you want to feel.  It will remind you that you are Thriving, that Life Works, that all you have to do is Imagine, Believe, and Receive and that All Is Well.  These thoughts will bring you relief. They will put a smile on your face and in your heart. They will make you feel good.  And, in feeling good you are allowing everything into your life that you want.  You are Creating Bliss….with Thoughts that Feel Good.

I am also so very appreciative of how much I love to move my body! Why do I love exercising so much? Why do I crave movement, exercise and activities that burn fat and maintain my optimal cardio fitness? I look forward to moving my body and I seek ways to get active each and every day. I find it pure joy to exercise, jump, run, play, and work up a glorious sweat on a regular basis. Why is it that I find it so easy to commit to a routine; a routine that is simply a part of my every day existence? I thoroughly enjoy exercising and find myself thinking, scheduling, and making time for a daily fitness routine that keeps my body healthy and strong! And, why is it that I have more than enough time, energy, and intention to exercise regularly and still get everything else done in perfect Divine order?

Why is it that I appreciate my path and my journey so fully?  I look back at my past and I am so fortunate to see a person who has always found it easy to maintain their optimal health, weight, and physical fitness. Why has this always been so easy for me? Why has eating healthy and exercising regularly always been so easy for me too? I guess I’m just fortunate to have the inner strength, commitment, courage, motivation, and simple desire to constantly choose the best for me! Why do I feel so deserving and capable? Wow, I am so thankful that it’s just me! I am deserving, strong, capable, and worthy of excellent health!

And, you know what else? I don’t know why this is – but I find it so easy to drop any extra weight faster than anyone else I know! And, it’s healthy the way my body does it.  Why is it so easy for me to drop extra weight effortlessly and quickly? It’s as if I blink my eyes, eat a few extra apples, and work out a couple of times and poof – I’m trimmer, slimmer, firmer, and weighing my optimal weight so effortlessly and quickly!

I love what I see in the mirror! I deeply and completely honor myself and accept that I am worthy of all that I desire now. I give thanks for all this and more. So Be it! It is done!
